JUST DANCE TWO STEP OPEN (non-professionals only)
CHALLENGE:
Each club will offer $500 in prize money to be given to the top three couples:
$ 300 for 1st place
125 for 2nd place
75 for 3rd place
First place couples from each club will be invited to a final competition at the Paradise Country Dance Festival in Ontario on Oct 18th where the winners will win a grand prize of :
$500 for 1st place
350 for 2nd place
150 for 3rd place

Prizes: In addition to cash prizes winners will be given passes to events, dance lessons with Southern Califonia Instructors, discount coupons for dancewear.
Rules:
1. All competitors must be non-professional level dancers, meaning if they have been paid for teaching in any capacity they will be considered "Professionals"
2. All FIRST PLACE winners may not enter in the Club Challenge contest at another club. However those who place second or third may enter again.
3. No aerials or lifts will be allowed. Progressive movement in Line of Dance counter clock wise using proper floor craft on the outside of the floor.
4. Costuming is not necessary but hats and boots are encouraged.
5. Must be Male and Female partners.
6. The contest is "Just Dance" and choreography is not encouraged.
7. Open Division includes all levels of dance (even if you have never competed!) |
CLUB OWNERS:
Benefits to the Club:
The purpose of this challenge is to promote and encourage more Country dance in Southern California. Our goal is to fill your club with dancers and spectators on the night of the contest which will increase the door fees and bar & food.
Promoters are providing: Judges, scoring, music and MC. Written announcements for club promotion (by your DJ’s) at least two months in advance. Major mailings and e-blast marketing will start in July. Announcements and promotional posters will be provided to each club. Newspaper releases, Radio release and flyers to all dance clubs, park & recreation, and dance events will be submitted as soon as the club contract is received. We need a date for your contest night.
In addition entry fees of $20 per couple collected and kept by the club. Our goal is to start the promo by the end of July. It would be nice to have each club do some preliminary contests held by the club instructors to prepare for the contest. Clubs will provide the $500 cash for winners on the night of their contest.
The contest:
We will run heats of no more than four couples on the floor at 2 minutes per heat. A finals may be necessary if more than two heats are run. Total contest time should not exceed 30 minutes at any of the clubs. Winners will be announced within one hour of the contest!
